Welcome to Eject Support. Below you'll find answers to common questions and ways to get in touch with our team.

Getting Started

Eject is a chat-based AI journal. Write quick 280-character entries like you're texting — AI automatically categorizes them into 20 life areas and links related entries together.

• Create an account using your email address. We'll send you a magic link — no password needed.
• Start journaling by typing a thought in the input field on the home screen. Hit send and you're done.
• Use commands to create different entry types: type normally for a journal entry, use /todo for tasks, or /note for notes.

Account & Login

• Magic link not arriving? Check your spam/junk folder. Magic links expire after 1 hour. Make sure you entered the correct email address.
• Change your email? Go to Settings → Change Email. A verification link will be sent to your new email address.
• App lock (biometrics): Enable Face ID or fingerprint lock from Settings for added privacy. Biometric data never leaves your device.
• Delete your account? Go to Settings → Delete Account. This permanently removes all your data. See our Account Deletion page for full details.

Journal Entries

• 280-character limit: Each entry is capped at 280 characters to keep journaling quick and pressure-free.
• Entry types: Journal entries (default), to-dos (/todo), and notes (/note) — all in one timeline.
• Photo attachments: Add images to your entries from your photo library to capture visual moments alongside your words.
• Edit or delete entries: Tap any entry to edit its text, change the date/time, or delete it.
• Categories: AI automatically assigns each entry to one of 20 life categories (Career, Health, Relationships, etc.). You can customize category names and descriptions.

AI Features

• Auto-categorization: When you send an entry, AI reads the text and assigns it to the most relevant life category automatically.
• Smart connections: AI uses semantic threading to link related entries across your journal — helping you see patterns you'd miss on your own.
• Analysis: Ask questions about your journal (e.g., "What have I been stressed about?" or "Summarize my month") and AI reads across your entries to give you insights.
• Internet required: AI features require an active internet connection since processing happens on secure servers.
• Privacy: Only your entry text is sent to the AI — images are never sent. Your data is never used to train AI models.

Subscriptions & Billing

Eject is free to download with no ads. An optional Eject Premium subscription unlocks additional features:

• AI Analysis — ask questions about your journal and get AI-powered insights
• Smart Connections — semantic threading links related entries
• Unlimited journal entries

Subscription details:

• Pricing: $4.99/week or $49.99/year, with a 7-day free trial included.
• Cancel anytime: Manage or cancel your subscription through your device's app store settings (Google Play or Apple App Store).
• Restore purchases: Go to Settings → Restore Purchases if your Premium status isn't showing after a reinstall or device switch.
• Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Google Play or the Apple App Store according to their respective refund policies.

Data & Privacy

• Export your data: Go to Settings → Export Data to download all your journal entries as a CSV file at any time.
• Data security: All data is stored with row-level security (RLS) on SOC 2 compliant infrastructure. Only you can access your data.
• No ads, no trackers: We never sell your data, show ads, or use third-party trackers.

Troubleshooting

• App crashing or freezing? Make sure you're running the latest version of Eject. Try closing and reopening the app, or restarting your device.
• Entries not syncing? Check your internet connection. Data syncs automatically when you're back online.
• AI features not working? AI features require an active internet connection. Ensure you have a stable Wi-Fi or cellular data connection.
• Notifications not appearing? Check that notifications are enabled for Eject in your device's system settings.
• Biometric unlock not working? Make sure biometrics are set up on your device first, then enable the feature in Eject's Settings.
